Take a moment to breath

In this day and age, it is quite easy to forget about taking the time to be present, to recognize yourself, and to take care of your needs. In a society where we are supposed to occupy every second of our time with homework, work, job applications, clubs, functions, etc, it becomes easy for days to fly by without taking a moment to realize how beautiful the day is– the little enjoyments in life forgotten.

Emotions are suppressed, feelings put on hold, life becomes mechanical. We are so focused on accomplishing for the future that we forget to live in the present. We transform into robots competing against one another– immune to compassion and love. Life is not truly lived without these two important aspects. Take a minute of your day– just one minute– to be calm, to breath, and to be happy. Void your mind of all obligations and just be present. In this moment, you will remember to love yourself and in turn that love with shine through to others.
